Chimpanzee 2

Order: Primates

Scientific Name: Pan troglodytes

Age: Adult

Sex: Male

Status: Endangered

Captive specimen

Measurements: 235 mm x 150 mm

Notes: This robust old captive male specimen shows a necropsy cut to the cranium. A necropsy is essentially an animal autopsy. The body of a deceased individual is examined in an attempt to determine the cause of death. The necropsy cut was made to allow access to the brain, which would have been examined for abnormalities such as tumors or neurodegenerative disease.

Thanks ST for letting us feature your specimen!
